What We Do at Stand for Children with Down Syndrome (SCD)
At Stand for Children with Down Syndrome (SCD), we are committed to empowering children with Down syndrome by providing them with the care, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. Our work is centered around advocacy, education, healthcare, and community support to create an inclusive and empowering environment for every child.
🔹 Provide Psycho-social supports services
We offer early developmental programs, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy to help children with Down syndrome reach their full potential and We support families through counseling, workshops, and peer networks to help them navigate the journey of raising a child with Down syndrome.
🔹 Inclusive Education & Learning Support
We advocate for inclusive education and provide specialized learning programs to ensure that every child has access to quality education tailored to their needs or people with Down syndrome (Promote learning both at home based care and at school).
🔹 Advocacy & Awareness Campaigns
We run campaigns, workshops, and community outreach programs to educate the public, fight stigma, and promote inclusivity in society, for programs and therapies available for children with Down syndrome to assist them with their speech, learning, and motor skills.
🔹Strengthen the economic capacities skills of children with Down syndrome’s families for stable income to respond themselves to the basic needs of their children ( livelihood program and VSLA)
