Who we are

The SCD is a voluntary association, non-profit making, politically and denominationally neutral association, and is set up for charitable actions. SCD is a Refugee Red Organization registered by the government as a CBO.  ,SCD, is best positioned and is rooted in the community . Established in 2022 because of a big number of families who have children with Down syndrome are very poor, and not able to provide basic needs for them, and some families aren’t able to manage their difficulties behavior and need to be psychologically support.

That is why SCD was founded in collaboration with parent and friends of children with Down Syndrome, in order to reach them as a target groups of existing families in the community, and proposes to provide all necessary parenting skills and psychosocial supports services to those families and strengthen them on the economic capacities skills for stable income and make sure they are able to respond themselves to the basic needs of their children.

At the same time our services are firmly focused on practical advice designed to improve outcomes for children with Down syndrome at home and in the classroom

SCD has a strong and committed team with different expertise and its strength is integrity and self-management to ensure sustainability of SCD projects. SCD is creative because we work under performance contract with our beneficiaries and for better evaluation, each family has a Family development plan and a road map which are both signed.
